A relaxed heart

When we are little, most of us have excellent posture.

Our chest is relaxed and open and our spine is aligned.

When we are told we are "too loud" or “too much” and we experience that our loving heart is not being returned, our chest starts to cave in.

We experience tightness and our shoulders start to slump over.

In our society right now we have so many reasons to keep repeating this pattern in our body.

Being on our mobile devices or computers, cooking, gardening and driving all enforce it.

In our Yoga class today, we will explore the front wall of the chest and how it connects with the bones of the the upper arms and the shoulders.

PECTORALIS MAJOR and PECTORALIS MINOR are the main chest muscles, they live on each side of the sternum ( breast bone.)

Our practice will include gentle back bends, arm stretches and shoulder openers.

We will use a STRAP or a BELT.

I hope to see you on the mat!

Much love,

Marielle
