Nurture our spine

Yoga and movement nourish the spinal structure.

We all know that it improves flexibility and posture.

Another benefit of this combination; it helps pump nutrients into the soft tissue and drains the toxins.

Osteoporosis or bone loss is the most common spinal issue for older adults.

To maintain good quality bones we need Calcium, vitamin D, strength training and movement in our diet.

In Ayur Veda the medicine to healthy bones is to decrease Vata (air) in our system and to boost Kapha (earth) by grounding Yoga poses.

Foods to eat would be: avocado’s and plant based proteins, like lentils.

Turmeric and green tea are helpful also, because they reduce inflammation.

Todays practice is all about movement and Yoga as a pair.

Low impact strength building in our boat poses, side planks and our Yoga sit-ups will help nourish us to the bone.

Much love,

Marielle
