The use of props in Yoga creates an experience in the body that can facilitate a
deeper understanding.
Props can be, for example, our mat, the wall, a blanket, a block, a strap, a chair or a tennis ball.
They can include anything beside your body and the floor.
The list of props can stretch out indefinitely!
A prop has three main functions:
-To support; to hold the body in a position in which the muscles can relax.
-To amplify; to increase the intensity of a pose.
-To focus; creating an emphasis on a specific part of the body.
In this class we will practice these qualities with four props:
A STRAP
A BLOCK
A BLANKET
and A TENNIS BALL.
