Vegus Nerve

The Vegus Nerve is the biggest and the most important nerve to down regulate the nervous system. And did you know that it connects the gut with the brain?

Helping us rewire our brain, rest and digest.

Vegus Nerve translates to “Wanderer”, because it travels through the body from the brain, face, tongue, ears, neck to the lunges, liver, spleen and digestion system.

It is incredibly diverse.

To mention a few functions:

-It is the main parasympathetic Nerve, slowing down your heart rate.

-It protects against inflammation and anxiety.

-It carries information about pain, touch and temperature.

-It receives sensory information from the international organs.

Yoga is an easy way to access and stimulate this Nerve, “the Highway to a healthy mind.”

In class today we will work with the ears, skull, neck and diaphragmatic breathing.

“It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.”

Ursula LeGuin

Much love,
